    Silver Tank Destruction Badge

I have just aquired a Tank Destruction Badge which may be the first variant I have seen!! Or it may be a reproduction?

Sebastian mentioned that varients are highly suspicious! But they do exist.

I Have two small jpg's to send to anyone who may be able to help me.

Have any of the honorable members seen this version of the Tank destruction badge?

The shape of the barrel and most importantly the texture of the background cloth.

    Real (Variant) or Repo??

Thank you in advance for your professional opinions!!!

    Kind Regards

    erik

I don't like neither the cloth nor the tank, it not matches known examples of original ones and I'm one of those who avoid this exotic "variants". Regarding the cloth all look wrong, the type of cloth, the black bands, the way it was constructed, the reversed edges,.... and the tank looks like if it has mising a part of the turret where it joins the main body in the frontal part.

I don't purchase this piece, but who knows, maybe I'm wrong. If you want to purchase one original TDB, goes for an example that fits all the standard specifications and forget those rare variants.

Looking for DKiG Heer winner Soldbuch who also won the TDB and/or CCC, specially in Silver.

          Copy

          Hi Erik,

From personal experience I know this is a copy. I bought one off E Bay about 5 years ago. Seller swore it was real and I believed it. Then the book Panzertruppe by Uwe Feist came out with a picture of this same TDB on page 145. My hopes were raised. However when we moved to Germany I was offered several of these being sold as repros.Jim
