    Erich-

I agree that the detail on the third device is quite poor but I certainly don't believe it is from wear. The bar is actaully in very nice condition and I don't think one device would be much more worn than the other. I took a really close look at the devices and it definately appears that they have all been on the bar for the same amount of time. There does not appear to be any more wear, dirt etc. around one device compared to the other two. Perhaps the construction of the Memal device was done by someone totally different than the device for the Czech award. Or maybe they were produced in two different types of metal - one being much softer than another. I don't know.

These devices are, after all, TINY: the size of a pencil end. Detail could not be "full size," and even in Imperial times, a wide range of quality will be encountered.

        Hello Brain and Rick,

don't misunderstand my point. I do believe that the bar is good. After all as I said, we have seen examples of miniature for the two other awards (Some detail yes, lack of all detail....hmmm?). And this item was certainly 'private purchase', I just think the detail is odd and wouldn't another Sudenten miniature to the trick more or less? Get out the Lupe worldwide and check all the fotos - there has got to be at least one example.
