    Ribbon bar identification

    Hi, greetings from Spain

Here's a very nice pic of Josef Huber, Stuka pilot with SG 6.

Can anybody help me with his ribbon bar?

    From left:

    -Iron cross, 2nd class
-Long service medal (with Heer eagle?!?!)
    -Eastern Front medal
    -?
    -?
    -?

    Best regards

Hi Panzer, It's a bit hard to make out but I'll have a stab at the 4th medal on the bar. It looks to be a Bulgarian distinguished service award which could mean that the others are also Axsis awards.. Try looking up the order of battle for this mans unit and see if he was based in bulgaria, at any time..You may find the Information you need on the following link.http://www.ww2.dk
      Hope this helps
      Warmest Regards ... John

Thanks for your help, John. Could you post a pic of that decoration?

Well, it seems that "SG 6" didn't exist, so I searched through the Axis Biographical Research website and that's what I found:

        HUBER, Josef
        RK: Ofw., Flugzeugfhr. i.d. 8./SG 77
        RK: 20.07.44

III/SG 77 bases names sound Polish to me. Unfortunately, there's no list of III/StG 77 (latter III/SG 77) bases.

In fact, I thought fourth ribbon from the left was a Spanish Military Medal (note ¿Spanienkreuz? under his DKiG), but I didn't mention it to avoid "biasing" your answers.

        Best regards

          Only Me..

The only other thing to do is to try and get a copy of ' Knights cross holders of the Luftwaffe' or ask the Members If they have any reference works on the subject.. Or you can apply to the German records department for his military record. You well may be right, as regards the spanish medal..Ive just placed a blowup of your mans ribbon bar next to a bulgarian ribbon bar and the lines don't match, so it's back to the drawingboard. I've attached the bulgarian (off a site, hence the coverup) for reference..
