Hi Keifer;

I'm not calling your expertise into question but for my own edification, I can't tell one way or the other whether the medal is a good one or not as I can't see enough detail. Why not provide some closeups?

The reverse pic is only to show the difference in the lower arms of the 8.Which clearly to me shows the differential in width.The front pic i sent just for you guys to get a general look at the front.

I cant really get any detailed snaps because of the crappy scanner i have.But i didnt actually send the photos to get an opinion on it.It is clearly a repro.It is undersize,the jump ring is part of the medal(not seperately soldered),medal is made of the wrong base metal.

This has been cast from an original 8 yr,so it shows the same difference in the lower arms of the 8,that an original will show.
Maybe repros made from scratch will have equal width on both arms,but the ones cast from originals will certainly show the characteristic difference in the lower arms of the 8.

Tony ,i am quite happy to send you the repro 8 yr if you would like to do an examination on it and to do a proper detailed photo series on it.
Pm me your address and ill pop it in the post.

Hi Keifer;

I think I need to clarify myself and my apologies for not making it clear in my original post. What I was after was a good quality fake with the characteristic of the design of the number 8.
