Something special - a VERY rare badge indeed!

    Hello all,

I suppose some of you have seen this (or rather heard of it), but it was completely new to me:

    Who knows what it is???

    Regards
    Chris

It is the spange to the Schutzwall Ehrenzeichen, a late 1944 prototype. I would be surprised to see it produced or awarded.
      Cheers, Frank

Not bad indeed. It is the projected 1944 "Spange zum Deutschen Schutzwall-Ehrenzeichen" - the 1944 Westwall repeat clasp. It was meant for those who already held the Westwall from 1938/39 and worked again at it in 1944. Obviously, it remained a project. This is the only picture I have ever seen of it.

          Frank,
I saw your post too late. Absolutely right, it remained a project.

Interesting! I have never seen that before. Where did the image come from, if I may ask?
