hey Guys, Glenn again. I was hoping someone could tell me what the numbers 0080 on the suspension ring to my WWI EKII meant. I heard somewhere that it is a hallmark? but I really dont know what that even means. or is it the makers code? besides these numbers there are no other markings anywhere I can find. any information on this would be greatly appreciated. thanks, Glenn

0080, I'm afraid I don't know Glenn on these Imperial sorts.
This post may get moved as it's in the wrong 'forum', there's an Imperial forum lower down the main page, the guys that frequent there I'm sure will oblige. You'll probably get a response here too, but more likely on the other one.
And don't worry about posting in the wrong bit......I used to do it all the time (Still do at times )
Good Luck with it, and a nice cross.

Looks like a nice EKII. I think that you are reading the marking upside down. It is probably 'O800' rather than '0080'. The 800 marking would be the silver content of the Iron Cross' frame. The O preceding the 800 is probably a letter code that would indicate the maker of the cross. I am not familar with the letter O being used on Imperial Iron Crosses though.
Best regards! TomMihi libertas necessest!
