    Spange ,,Prager Burg''

Forum members, what say you about these clasps?
I have taken the liberty of classifying them into type A and B. Type A is the "standard" strike, with wide pointed prongs. I have in my experience, seen these bars unmarked, and marked L/12 on both the center reverse and toward the edge.
Type B is from a different die altogether, with thin prongs. The example here is marked L/11. These (again, in my experience) appeared mostly on mounted groups or single medals (I have never seen one of these bars attached to one of the standard, pinback awards).
That being said, when I was collecting these (late 1980's through mid 1990's) the "conventional wisdom" was that I am calling Type B were definitely no good, although there was some speculation that they were indeed some sort of "spangestuck" that were available to those making private purchase medal bars.
Please don't confuse these with the bars that are are pretty obviously "no good" that have been out there for quite some time.

All comments are appreciated and welcomed. For the record I myself am quite...unsure!

    Thanks,
    Greg

    PS
As a side note for those with sharp eyes...does anyone see (on the type A's that you have) anything at the bottom of the first bit shrubbery from the left?

    G.
