    My guess.........

As just a young whipper-snapper in the field of collecting these awesome pieces, and with all the GREAT wisdom being shared here my 2 cents doen't mean ****..... But I would like to say, I HAVE noticed a LOT of these on ebay and epier( they are very colorful and nice looking medals). I don't know if they are as common as they look or they are all repro's, but I have also read the threads about all the fakes out there. I'm sure someone here has an area of expertise in this field and will reply shortly. I'd not get one from anyone but a reputable person/dealer myself now that I have found this forum.

    Happy collecting.

i agree i found a site new to me it is helmet weitzle he had 4 fire crosses at about the same price that detlev had so i got one from him. i am nervous about getting things off ebay i got only 2 medals 25 year fiathfull cross and a war merit with swords second class both for abut 20 us so even if fake did not sell the farm. at least these dealers have a reputation to take care of. thanks

        Hi Michigan,

As Tony said in that thread in the Third Reich Forum, you need to come up with better pics.

          Hello,

here is a (BAD)picture of a fake PB firecross that was for sale as a REPRODUCTION in an old manions catalog. At one of the last shows i attented a small dealer/collector had alot of REPRODUCTION firecrosses for sale in your style. He told me they were being made in asia(i thought that was odd!)and he showed me what he said was a real one compared to the REPROS he was selling.According to him the FAKE ones had a red flame while the real deal had flames that looked more orange to me.Please do get other opinions im just passing along some 2nd hand info,I just wanted to let you know that ALOT of FAKE firecrosses are flodding the market lately.
