I recently purchased this SMF manufactured gravity knife and have an operational question. The blade exits and enters properly and locks tight when in the handle and when fully engaged. However, it’s the spring that doesn’t drop to the “relaxed” position when the blade is fully extended and locked. As a result, the thumb lever has a lot of play in this position. One of the pictures illustrates this. Notice the thumb lever doesn’t rest on the cap. The thumb lever will rest properly when the blade is fully retracted into the handle. Any ideas on what is causing this?
