    P 08 Holster "62865“ = 6./Fallschirmjäger Regiment 2"

    Hello,
got a Holster in my Hand for P 08 from Karl Böcker 1940 what inside marked with:
    (MOB Number) "62865“ = "6./Fallschirmjäger Regiment 2"
Maybe someone observed this kind of marking ?

And why not a Feld Post number?

      (8.9.1943-22.4.1944) 25.4.1944 2. Batterie Flak-Regiment 50.

And maybe it was the zip code from the bringhome GI "62865, Mulkeytown, IL" ...

I understand that a Fj unit is much more intriguing than a Flak unit, but is a fact that Feldpost numbers were also used to mark the soldier's gears.

My guess would be a Feldpost number, and not a Luftwaffe one.

            Nice set!
