If you think these are pretty you've missed SOME VERY NICE ONES!!! Some went for only 3,5eur (unloading a truck/horses from its nose ec)! And they where ALL amazing! I had to buy more! There where even pics of the cockpit from all sides ec!

          Hi everyone:
This photo might well belong to the training carried out by the "Lehr" troop in 1943. The "Erprobungs-Abteilung XI. Flieger-Korps" was attached to the 2FJD, as being the Lehrtruppe (I. Bat) of the FJR7. They were transferred to Laval, south of Normandy, on 14 April 1943, where they performed training with DFS 230 and - the first - jumps from the Me-323 "Gigant".

Very sharp photos! I have seen some from that series before, but never with FJs.

Óscar, I would love to hear the information you have concerning FJs jumping from the Me323. Sounds fascinating....

Mmm im not sure, because the rest of the pictures where taken somewhere in the Balkan! :S But maybe your right and was that before/after the Balkan pics where taken.

PS: Mister Zahn these where ALL private photos not a serie, of a War Photographer or so.

              Regards Sebas

Willi, the stay of the I./FJR7 in Laval took place from 14 April 1943 till 1 June 1943. Then, they were transferred to Orange, near Avignon. Student himself oversaw and attended several jumps. 60 men from the "Nachrichtenzug", by instance, formed the first group jumping from the "Gigant". The day after, another FJ group (80 men) from the Lehr-Btl. jumped in 2 waves. Two men died because their parachute didn´t open. The device used to attach the hook of the parachutes broke after the second FJ of the group had jumped... Therefore, the third and fourth Fallschirmjäger were dropped without being able to open their parachutes.
                  Regards, Óscar
