Saw that one, and indeed, beautiful, and very unique, smock.
One thing strikes me however - it's been issued I guess, as at one point, a gull was added, most likely the owner got promoted.
Yet the garment looks stone mint! - Not just slightly worn, but really, STONE MINT! Look at the leather tabs on the zips, not even some grease or crease from opening them.
I can only imagine this was issued, and the owner was in some sort of office job far behind the front line, and only wore it for ceremonies.
Your thoughts on this are most welcomed, as this leaves me puzzled.
