I add that when i use a flashlight on it, i see all the little shiny points on it.

Your photo shows a late-war liner with black rubber. The original poster is showing an earlier type of rubber pad - the type seen in about 1940/41.

Yes, I know. The picture was showed to understand what I wanted to mean.
The only reply received shows that I had to be wrong
However, even early pads are imo made from tighter foam, with very small holes quite near each other.

Those are all pads from DD M38s - a different kind again. I am talking about the type found for a short period after these . See below.
