FJ Gas Mask Bag - Klarscheibenbüchse

Refresh my memory; has anyone seen or have one of these in a bag which was unquestionably original to the bag?

    Hi, Willi

A friend have found 10 years ago more than 10 "ebd" gasmask bags in Brittany and i remember that 2 or 3 have square lenses boxe from "bwz".
Sure some others members had seen this in others bags...

Yes, mine was never in a collection and came with a 1941 dated tin.

It is entirely possible that only BWZ tins were used in FJ bags. What do you think ?

@ David, thanks for that information!

@Steve, great example! Certainly been in the bag for ever.

I don't think we can, with so few examples to sample, draw any conclusion to whether the maker would be the same as the bag.

Here is the one in Karl's Volume 2.

I have a couple in the collection, and a few spares, so I was going to move some along.

Some were dug-up along with all those gas-mask bag rubber plugs . It would be nice to know the makers , but the photos have disappeared .

I remember my thread about round tins :

                  http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...ght=round+tins

I still consider as said in the book that 90% of bags until 1945 still had round tins .

BTW a full box of square tins was recently found :

Roger, I certainly agree with the 90% number...perhaps even higher. Have forgotten about that thread. We have alot of great information and great discussions archived here.

                          For Jiri.

Presumably his parent unit before transfer to the FJ. It then appears to have had a 2nd owner.
