While I am a little puzzled by a few things on the helmet in question, I too feel it might be ok.

Oil based winter paint is ok for real winter helmets. There are plenty of them found on battlefields.
Even elite FJ units used this kind of paint..have several dug up from positions of I./Sturm , winter 42-43. Almost all helmets from that unit in oil based paint camo. Also this well visible on some period pix . I also wondered why they used so shiny kind of paint but perhaps it was better than nothing..

It doesn't bother me as much to see shiny paint on snow camos as on other camos. Snow is bright and shiny, maybe shiny white paint blends right in. I like this one too, the only thing that bothers me is the white paint in the bolt holes. You would expect to see SOME white paint run down in there but it looks like the white goes pretty far down into the holes. All in all it looks pretty believable though.
