The date of the Wound Badge doesn't indicate when he was wounded, but when he was awarded the badge. Are there any entries on the wounds page?

Its the date that the woundbadge was given. Not when he was wounded.

Can you show the Lazarett seiten? That could tell us more.
Depending on the type of Soldbuch, It could be page 8/9 or page 12/13.

In that case it is hard to tell when he became eligible for the BWB unless you can get a confirmation by WASt. He was probably hit by a very small splinter fragment. For example, I own a grouping of some who was given his SWB after fifteen(!) months.
