Can`t take credit.. it was another WAF member who alerted me to the sale on my forum... These pathetic modern - easy to spot as fake - fakes, i have been following the past four (three) years, (one year break inbeteween) and have found no less than 33 of them .. all sold as genuine by every dealer and their dog. Amounting to USD 6500.- Six thousand five hundred dollars in total.. just for these Japanese fakes.
I wrote a short article about them too, linked to the Japanese faker and where they can be aquired. Also showing an original.

I would sugguest to any dealer who sold them as genuine, to immediately stop selling small badges, as they obviously have no idea what they are doing.
But of course nobody will give a monkeys cuss, and my article-list will continue to grow

I sold it and will refund the buyer his money.

However, please post on the FJ Forum for opinions and discussion.

No one will be screwed I can assure you.

        Thank you,

        Larry

          Hi Larry
Not sure if you meant me with "post it on the FJ.." but if you did, then i can only say no thanks.

I have my own forum for these detailed "following the sh*t sold by experts" threads. Especially when it comes to crap sold by WAF mods, WAF sponsors, WAF experts and WAF dealers.
I am no longer prepared to offer up my time-consuming research on a silver platter for members of this forum, only to be insulted and laughed at, and, as recently happened here, recieve threads of bodily harm even.
Sorry, it has nothing to do with you of course, just a culmination of the last years of grief here on WAF and the realization that if i am going to help collectors, i need to do it another way, and not by posting on a public forum.

Well I appreciate your efforts. Reproductions to fool and those for reenactors are flooding the hobby at all levels. Fortunately most fakes can be exposed with the efforts of folks like you. Knowledge is our best weapon. I just weeded out six bad dog tags from my collection with the help of fellow collectors. So please keep up the good work. Jim

While they certainly make fakes of these, I don't agree with you.

Please show me the ad where these can be purchased for €39.

So, you are saying all the ones coming from Italy since about 1999 are fake?

Some serious allegations. Care to elaborate which WAF mods and WAF experts sell fakes?

Its about time it is stopped.
Humble collectors like Jo are a breath of fresh air in this so corrupted hobby.

                    Thank god for forensics.

Just curious, what do you know about these badges? I am all ears. Not interested in some smart*as comments.

I first encountered them at the SOS (it was either 1999 or 2000). A Major in the Italian Army brought a couple over. Ultimately it turns out many were in the lot, and have turned up. Doesn't make them fake.

I asked for information as to where they are available for €39. I am truly curious, as there is always something to learn. None of the serious FJ collectors believe they are bad. Are we all co-conspirators?

So, since you jumped in... Are they bad based on your experience? Where can I find these fakes? We are discussing this matter in the FJ section, where I posted a very good fake I found. I look forward to your contribution.

Where is this oozing venom? I don't even know the guy. I know what others have to say, but that matters not to me. I only care what has been said on this thread. And his allegations. Check the WAF rules about such conduct.

and factual. because he does honest research,,not say something is period because some guy brought a bunch to a show back in the day
