Yes, very pricey. IMO the Class III market in the US is driven by "investment speculators", and was ruined about 15 years ago.

First time, i see this kind of steel buttstock.

They certainly are rare, but there have been a number of them available over the last decade. So certainly obtainable from that perspective. At that point it's just a matter of whether or not you want to spend that much money on a single piece. Unjustifiable for most collectors.

Just something of interest I was looking up and found this info from POW interrogation of FJs in Normandy, note the amount of FG42's and one with sight !

Are you with the BC Regiment ? - I have examined and photographed the one in their regimental museum - missing the bolt and op rod.
(I think their's was obtained in France, though.)


Gene - Registered Dewat does not mean "no bang" - it means that it was first registered as a dewat with the NFA and appears on their list as such, it could very well have been legally returned to firing capability - often they were de-watted very poorly (lead in barrel or small-weld in chamber). It would and is still legally listed as it was originally registered, as a dewat.
NFA registered Dewats are transferable MG's - and desirable.

Demilled is something altogether different.

He is probably from Calgary. They have a first model number 474 that was brought back from Italy. It is missing the charging handle and was converted to semi by mashing the pistol grip so that the sear could not rotate to the full auto side.

BC Regiment bring back was a late model G-type - same 3000 range as mine and the one at Bapty in the UK - (the one in the Forgotten Weapons video.)

A dewat cannot fire. A reactivated dewat is known as a rewat.

There were two for sale at Malvern militaria in the Uk two weekends ago. A first pattern for £34995 and a second pattern for £25000, they were, to put it as politely as I can, pieces if sh1t. I couldn't make out if they were ground dug and then someone had added bits to try and cover it up or ........... It defies a description. I just wish that I had had a camara. I can only assume that the seller was insane.

You had to see them to believe it.
