    Here's a couple more less common photos showing the FG42 in use of the western front. In the first photo, the lead man carries a first model while peering around a disabled tank.
    The second is a group of FJ between action. On the left you can see the unmistakable outline of the butt stocks of several Fg42s.

      Great document Lennard,

      Some useful tactical info. there -

      In B.H. Liddel Hart's book, The German General's Talk - he details the ways in which many of them simply opened up in captivity, to the degree that they couldn't help offering advice from a professional perspective.
      I know this wasn't a General being interrogated in your document - but, it may go some way to explain a certain arrogance of attitude that was prevalent.

      It is fascinating bit of reading.

            FG42 type 1 transferable dewat went for $195k plus auction %
            Welded up bore and non matching but very early example.

            FG42 type 2 went for $149k plus auction %
            Still a lot of money for a reweld

              Usually bought, and then sold a year later or so, by speculative investors. These generally are not bought by folks who collect them. They collect $$$$$.
