Strange bag...

Hi all, I found this picture at the moment on ebay auction.
I was asking myself what is that strange bag?
At least four of those Fallscirmjäger are wearing, so I think it should be a standard part of the equipment, maybe a medical bag?

They seem to be much wider than a breadbag in the photo, but the belt attachments are certainly breadbag style.

So, they are not preparing for a jump, but based on the fact they are on an airfield and loading up with food, where are they going? Interesting to see the universal airborne 'buddy system' in play, regarding putting on their field gear.

IMO its no Leberwurst, but Salami - and its the 1st time I see it on picture. Its listed on the official list what to carry when you jump.

thank you for your replies, though I think it is not a Brotbeutel, you can see in this picture that the Brotbeutel is carried under the bag (red circle in the picture) and is smaller in size..... but who knows....
