    Interesting Fallschirmschützenschein

Here's something that came my way recently.....don't know anything at all about Obergefreiter Bruno Rotermund. He joined the Luftwaffe on 15.4.1942 with Fallsch.Jg.Ers.Abt. 1 in Stendal.
This is his replacement dated 7.7.1944 for his original lost 20.4.1944.

Won't take some of you long...but why is it so interesting ?

    /Ian

Is that Hauptmann Egon Delica's signature ....

    Egon Delica (4 January 1915 – 26 April 1999)

      Why Abteilung?
      This should be Bataillon:

        Yes Bob,

        Egon Delica's RKT signature.

Regarding Abt. instead of Btl....yes that is in error, however I have seen this before.

With that said, these Ers.Btln. existed in 1939, the link you provided has incorrect info....however that is probably when they were reformed.

Correct, a similar unit existed early and the war, and is the one of the link you posted.
But since the Zweitschrift was made in 1944, I believed that the unit is actually the FJ Ers. batl.1 - Stendal (later transfered to Ascherleben).

He was also very young when he joined!

True.....makes you wonder if the date of birth is also incorrect or the date when he joined up!

Photo of Egon Delica, unfortunately in black on a dark background, however the reverse has his signature also for comparison.
