Most of you know this helmet............. i just want to present it with some new photos that clearly show age spidering or crazing.....this is a Jem/Grail from Oakleaf ...... Just goes to show you they are not all bad...lol This helmet was getting killed because it was on that site!! I think...it was pulled out of the Wood work by Bob I ......It can also be seen in the book by Tom K and Bob I ....Combat Helmets of the Third Reich Vol II (Heer and Luftwaffe, Vol 2) ...Before i went for it...........I talked lot to Bob I about it ...thanks Bob..Its an ET 66/68? lot number 695..........I have included usb shots to quell the na sayers... ...the Micro shot say it all for me.....you cant fake the age exhibited in the usb shots...imo

Indeed. It has been around for several years now. I remember seeing it at an SOS a few years back, before it came under the purview of Oakleaf, and I have to admit I did not like it in person. However, the closeup pics with the cracking in the paint are hard NOT to like. So I guess I am on the fence on this one.
I have only ever seen one other FJ Medic helmet that I believed. A pretty exclusive club, to say the least!

Thanks Randy. Impressive photography and believe me I know how rare these are. Just read Bob's report over on GHW. Interesting how the red paint aged so differently from the white , I assume because it is on top of the white and that protects it from cracking maybe? Or just different kind of paint?
