ET71 and serial number is 2161...
Is it an early war or ?
              Thanks,
              Martin

Martin, I believe your helmet dates to 1941. There are no DD M38's below batch number 3000 to my knowledge so yours is one that falls in the category of the "starting over" batch numbers that began late 1940.

                Cheers,
                Terry

According to Ken Niewiarowicz, it rather should be dated 2nd half of 1942.
                  Regards,
                  Mats

Any idea about a range value for this FJ helmet ?

                        Very nice helmet Martin.
Nice to see that field-arrangement for the well known rivet weakness in FJ helmets.
Value...I'm not an expert but given the decal being a remain and the field repair maybe could be priced as a good ND FJ (4500-5500 USD)? Just guessing...
                        Congrats.
                        G.

I think that this field repair is really a bonus for this helmet,it make it a good solid ET71 combat fj helmet with lot of character...
                                I"m thinking to sell it...
More opinion of a good range price is welcome before i put it on estand..

                                best
