    My New AFRIKAKORPS FJ Soldbuch

    Hi,

Just get this... a georgous Afrikakorps' Soldbuch.

The owner was probably already in Africa when he joined the 14./FAR 1.

    Units are :

    - Soldbuch opened on 05.05.42 - Stab./Fliegerführer Afrika
    - 14.02.43 - 22.02.43 - 14./FAR 1.
    - 23.02.43 - 16.06.43 - 12./Lw. Rgt. Barenthin

then when he came back from Tunisia they probably
decided to make him a paratrooper and did send him
    to the jump school :

    - 17.06.43 - 23.06.43 - 2./Fallsch.Jg.Ers.Btl. Stendal
    - 24.06.43 - 11.07.43 - 14./FAR 1
    - 12.07.43 - 05.08.43 - 2./Fallschirmschule 2
    - 06.08.43 - 14./FAR 1
    - 12.02.44 - 2./Fallsch.Jg.Ers.Btl
    - 02.08.44 - 1./Fallsch.Jg.Ers.Btl

Then he was sent to the Fallsch. Anti-Tank Batallion in Hildesheim

and then assigned on 28.10.44 to
    - 3./Fallsch.Pz.Jäger-Abtl.6 (6.FJD)
    - 08.12.44 - FAK ?????
    - 13.03.45 - III./FJR 19

    He earned :

    - 01.08.42 - Deutsche/Italian Medal of Africa (Führerflieger Afrika)
    - 31.01.43 - KvK 2 mit swords
    - 01.05.43 - Africa cufftitle
    - 19.06.44 - EKII
    - 19.06.44- FJ badge in cloth

I have to work on the EKII and try to find for what he earned it ! (Will post the page later if anyone is interested...)

    Anyway enjoy !

    Jean-Yves

                    Please post more Jean-Yves,

I was on holiday when the auction ended so could not bid on it

Congratulations ...I did not know he was Rgt. Barenthin

Could you post a larger scan of the unit you are not sure about FAK ?

                    Cheers, Ian

                              Thank you for comments !

I think I get it because a lot of bidders found it in bad shape.
The Barenthin entry is not clearly written but I am happy
that the seller had not some Lynx' eyes (as I)
Anyway, Ian, I am glad you were on Holidays.

It is badly written but it is something like FAK (Fallsch.Armee-Korps) Kompanie ...something.

I am sending two more pictures
