Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

IMHO the BEVO is a reproduction. The others are handsome and authentic.

                  Hello John,

The bevo eagle was obtained from the same person as all the others. I have never seen a fake, in this pattern and it matches the materials and construction of the authentic blue bevo types. It is a mystery to me.

                    Hi Bob,

Here is an authentic BEVO in flatwire. There is a subtle difference in design. Note how yours is more "hump backed." Also note how on yours the mouth line of the beak runs into the eagle's eye. In the 1980s I saw BEVO eagles like this on several reproduction jump smocks, tunics and flying blouses.
                    Regards,
                    John

                      For ease of comparison.

Here's one that was sent home from Berlin in 1945 sewn to a yellow minefield flag along with other cap and breast eagles.

Congratulations Steve! Those early green ones are tough to find.

                                my first smock eagle

I just got this one, I think it is greunmeliert backed, sewn to splinter on tan smock material. (it looks similar to John’s on posts 41 and 42). What do you guys think? Thanks.

                                Regards,
