    John - Willi,

I don't have a picture of the date code on this smock, but it is marked XII/44.
I picked up my bandoleers for this smock from Willi

    Thanks for asking.

      Thanks Tony,

Mine with the subdued eagle is dated X 44, one month earlier. Mine however, is made of heavy gabardine, was interested if the maker is the same.

        Hi John,

Took a quick shot of the inside.
        Hope that helps!

        Regards,
        Tony

Thanks Tony, mine is a different maker, 0042. No Fj collection is complete without a subdued eagle, an important benchmark of final jump smock design.

More about RB numbers and decoding them later.

            Nice eagles Tony/John !

The maker of my subdued eagle smock is the same as Tony's, but X.44 dated.
John, is that a blue wool eagle ? Very nice

            Regards,
            Steve

P.S. Tony, any chance of photos of your smock ?

              eagles

              Hi Steve,

Looking to take a few pictures in the near future, hopefully soon! I'll post them in another thread.

John would like to hear more about RB number decode.

              Thanks
              Tony

                subdued eagles

                Hi Steve and Tony,

Yes Steve, that is a wool backed eagle sewn to splinter. Tony, some makers have been identified as well as some city codes. Willi has led the way in this research, so it naturally should appear first in his book.

Here is a fine subdued eagle. Again, these are scarce and important.

                  Hi John,

That is a great looking eagle on an even better looking camo. Fantastic

                  Steve.

Yes, it sure is. So, is that GM one on the water pattern smock.

Steve, that eagle I posted is on a green cotton twill backing.

Here's my favourite smock eagle still on a smock; a tight-weave, heavy cotton splinter smock:
