Yep, it's true, and he doesn't seem to have an MP38-40 but an MP28 or MP34?

Gustav, would it be possible to get a pic that MP in detail?

Grandfather of the MP 38 pouch?



Am now at a computer where it is easier to post. Good eyes Gustav! Have known of that photo for years and never noted the pouch was a five compartment. This is a very early photo, most likely before the MP 38, so the pouches are likely for an MP 34. The pouch looks too long for the shorted 28 magazine. And really do think these are the forerunner of the MP 38 six capacity pouches.

here is the detail ,the best I was able to do...it realy looks like MP 28 - 34 ,see the position of the sling...

Now the question is...Is there any evidence of FJ using MPs 28 or 34? The kind of attachement for the sling reminds me of those for Gew98 or FG42:
