    Postwar Schimpf cap badge?

This badge is part of an estate here in northern Germany.

I only know the typical period hollow Schimpf badges and have never seen or heard of this type. My guess would be an early vet association/reunion piece.

    Regards

    Heinrich

          Hallo Heinrich,
          An old thread but nevertheless...
This reprobadge was made in 1969 (25years after the first and original badge was made in mai/june 1944).
The man who had it made in 1969 was the wellknown Rudi Frühbeisser, writer of the FjR 9 book "Opfergang deutscher Fallschirmjäger".
It was made for the veterans association and had a "normal" version (Yours) and a VIP - one ("Ehrenadel") in gold.
There were probably made only a couple of 100's , so these are almost as rare as the original (made +/- 15000X, one for each member of the 3th FJ-division)...
          Cheers
          Peter
