Frederich Lange??

Eric Queen posted a photo of Frederich Lange in the "I'll show you mine..." thread that has sparked my interest. Does anyone know anything more about Lange?

On his fliegerbluse I see:

EK 1 & 2
FJ badge
GAB
IAB
Luft GCB
3 Tank Destruction badges
Close Combat clasp
Wound Badge
Kreissieger (HJ award) ?

did he survive the war? was he promoted beyond Unteroffitzer?

How would he qualify for the IAB, GAB AND a LGCB? Did you have to do the same to qualify for all three? 3 assaults that is?

The same thought was on my mind too Peter, but I did not know enough about the qualifications for the RK to make a comment. I agree, all this and no RK???

I would venture to guess that he came over from a WH infantrie unit into the LW. He may have received the GAB prior to the LW issuing the LWGAB. IAB could have come from prior service before FJ since it was a volunteer unit. All said he seems to have had a larger ground combat role than LW one.

As far as him not recieving the RK. He is really just wearing multiple awards here for much the same thing, IAB, GAB, and LWAB. I would think his panzervernichtung might be enough for the RK but maybe he had a habit of peeing in his commanders canteen for giggles.
