The visor doesnt seem to have the right shape; it looks like there is a "sharp" angle protruding. Anyone els see this?

I agree JL, but the guy who owns "At The Front" usually makes some very nice stuff. I will see him and some of these helmets next week, so I will check them out more closely. His chinstraps are getting better. He does make a very honest effort to make sure these can not be sold as original.

With all respect..., but why the battle to get these right..?

Read the text...,the weight is now good ,straps improved etc...

The CKL could not be changed..???? or they forgot...???

        He's honest ,probably yes...,but he's not the buyer !

I don't get these improvements only for reenactment ,I really don't....

Maybe still not this run...,but the next ....

        Just a feeling..,no more...

We'll see when and where these helmets pop up....

There's always a way to "mark" these as fake if you want IMO...

What I mean to say is that a severe problem is coming our way..

        Same with other stuff...

I've been busy to find things out about the Nitsche & Guenther shatter goggles...

There're good fakes and NOONE can tell good from wrong nowadays...

        Pretty frustating ,huh...?

The new shells have been improved over the previous run...perhaps too much . They are slightly heavier (exactly the same as originals) and they do have maker marks. I requested that they alter the mark to "ATF 71" but somewhere along the way that request was disregarded. Thus, these helmets are marked "CKL 71" just like the original I sent them to copy. They are very, very realistic.
No, we are not going to drill holes in the front to prevent fraud. It wouldn't work. There are already two other companies with CKL 71 marks in their shells (one honest but the other one in Germany is famously dis-honest). They look and feel like originals; all components interchange with authentic helmets. The tooling for the helmet was made using an original German Paratrooper helmet, not a GSG-9.
The chinstraps feature Prym snaps and original WWII zinc grommets. The hardware is an exact copy of the original, and the leather is the correct color and thickness and it doesn't stretch like a rubber band as do some other reproductions.
The liner has the correct black rubber crash pad, and the leather is hand-stitched, maker and size marked.

Our helmets now weigh exactly the same as originals.
