Hello Marvolo59,
Obviously your helmet is an early apple green M38 para helm in relic condition. Normally these helmets were factory finished with two decals as everybody knows.
www.germanmilitaria.com have had a M38 lid some months ago with only the tri color shield remaining (very rare doesn´t it??)
I can not find any red flags in your tri-colour shield. I believe it is an original decal period applied as well as the eagle decal (I can´t see any differences)
There are no traces of re-decaling with a fake decal over the rests of an hypothetical original one.
If so, your helmet should have been a single tri color decal one... with a post war/fake eagle applied???
Original shell, original apple green paintwork finish, original tri-colour decal shield and..."fake eagle decal"
may be... may be... as well as paranormal experiences, Area51,etc...
For me a great DD para helm...

IMO no worries on the decals, paint, and shell. As we now know the liner assembly was likely to have been added from another relic helmet.
