Very Rare FJ Sturm Portrait !

This is a very rare portrait that I picked up a few weeks ago . It shows a hand painted smock . From what I have been told the Sturm Regiment were the only ones to do this ?

Up until recently I never new that FJ hand camoed smocks existed. I always thought the Allied Paratroops were the only ones to do this.

"The Halberstadt stamp on the reverse would back this up as this is where the Sturm Regiment was stationed after Hildesheim (late 1940 time frame which matches the time they camo'ed the smocks by hand). I think there is no doubt on this one."

Fantastic photo Shaun !

There are photos and postcards of Hitler with May 1940 paratroopers, on one can see clearly see hand camoed smocks.

Are there any accounts of what colors were used for these hand painted smocks, or a description of the pattern?

Superb photo Shaun! Based on the smock being a M40, the photo has to be no earlier than very late 1940.
