    Signature ID request

    Hi guys,

Does anyone recognize this signature, its on a late war document for Battalion Kommandeur of the FJ-Btl Brandenburg Division. I cannot even find the name of the Batt Kommandeur at all to see if its a close match to the letters.

    Thanks guys.

If it doesn't have a hinge and catch, I'm not interested......well, maybe a little

The first letter may be a 'H' as I have seen it signed that way before, General der Artillerie Kurt Herzog for example. If you could show the whole document to show stamps & dates it may help for someone narrow it down for you.

      Hi hucks,

Thanks for the reply. Seems like the first letters are Ji to me, and the last could be inkl or similar. Here is a full size copy of a similar document, showing all the stamps. Just FYI, I think the date on this document is wrong, it should be 1944, not 43. Must have been a typo as the FJ unit was not a Battalion in 1943, only a company.

What is strange about that document is the date, because no Fallschirmjäger Btl. "Brandenburg" excist in 1943.

AGREED, that is weird to see 1943 instead of 1944. I know of many of these exact same type of documents, and all are dated 1944 except this one. I have always chalked it up to a simple clerical error because everything else is spot on, including the signature. Its perfect as far as I can tell. Could it be a clever fake??
