    Afrika Paratrooper Helmet Tischlinger

    Need help !

In May 2008, I have lent one of this forum´s members, Mr. George Cone from Texas, who at the time was visiting Nuernberg in Germany, the original paratrooper helmet and the military briefcase from my father. He wanted those items for an exhibition as he claimed.

The contact between the two of us was made through a man from the Falschirmjäger Kameradschaft Nürnberg, that my father once belonged to.
Mr. Cone gave me his word and sealed it with a handshake, that he would return the items soon. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for the items to be returned. Mr. Cone did not reply to any phonecals or e.mails from my side.
I would really love to get back my father´s possessions since they have a great personal value to me. I really regret that I trusted Mr. Cone and his word.

Inside the helmet, which my father brought back from Africa, the name Mattäus Tischlinger is quite visibly written and can be identified by this.

Is there anybody in this forum who could help me in this matter?

    Bernd Tischlinger, Nuernberg

          Why?

Mr. Cone should be given a chance to reply and explain. He reads the Forum as far as I know and should see this.

Otherwise, I am sure Seba has his email address.

There may a valid reason Mr. Cone has not replied so far. Severe illness? Regardless, hope he will reply soon.

Multiple messages from Sept 2009 and this month have been left on Mr. Cone's profile page asking for helmet back but no response?? I hope you get your father helmet back but does not look so good right now. No execuse if helmet was asked for back last Sept 2009. I hope Mr. Cone explains his actions.

Have I missed another discussion about this issue with George Cone? If not, this thread should have been begun in Sept. of 09. This is all news to me.

Regardless, Seba or one of the supermoderators can email Cone and request a reply. If he does not respond the only recourse may be legal action. I will post a link to this discussion in Administration now.

                Bernd,
Is your father the same M. Tischlinger mentioned in this thread ?

                Regards,
                Steve

Yes, this is my father, Matthäus Tischlinger, born in 14.11.1914, died
                  01.04.2008.
Mr. Queen got the original documents EK1 and EK2, i wrote him a email
to give us this things back, but he sold them. I dont know who gave the
documents away, maybe a friend of my father??
The helmet and Kartentasche are since May 2008 in America. Many, many
emails, phonecalls, posts on his side here in the forum remain unanswered.
My last hope is this Thread.

                      Hi Bernd,

Hope this turns out well for everyone. I would be very surprised if George does not come in and post on this thread, he seems to be an active participant here and I think he has his own website. I don't know him, but seems like a well respected member of the community.

Just one question, did you LEND George the helmet, or did he BUY it from you? Did any money change hands?

Thanks and good luck with your father's items.

                      Tom

                        Hi Thomas,

i lend the helmet and a kartentasche to Mr. Cone, he told me, that he want
to make a picture of an uniform with these things for his webside.
After this - when he come back to Nürnberg- he will bring both things to me. In the year 2009 he was in Germany and visit Nürnberg, but without my
                        helmet and kartentasche !!!!

He gave no money to me, i never !!!!!!!!!!! sell things from my father.
I promised this to my father. And he promised to give the things back an
                        gave me his hand.

                        Bernd

                        Sorry about my english.

Thanks for the clarification Bernd, sounds straight forward to me. Your english is just fine, so I am interested to hear what George has to say in this.

It's been said that the member should come forward and explain his point of view and I agree, I hope that won't take him too long though.

This is the site in question, I can find your father's name listed there. The helmet hasn't been posted it seems.

However that thing turns out in the end, good luck!
