I bought this from Blackcross Militaria several years ago. That would be a real disappointment.

Although I think you've now put the black kisss of death on this, I don't see it as the same eagle Jos.

Bad, bad, bad. Not even remotely like the documented original Italian-made pieces. On top of that, it's brand new. Real ones sell in Germany for $1500 plus; $3500-4000 with the document.

I assumed when I got it that it was a period charm sort of piece. I wasn't aware of an 'official' treuekette at the time.

I was also a lot more trusting of known dealers with big newsletter like lists. That trust obviously melted away long ago.

Obviously not the same as an original Treuekette. I just thought it was a period 'charm'.

Sorry for any confusion. I didn't even know what a Truekette was until today. I don't know anything about SS Cufflinks either. Had it, didn't want it, wanted to get rid of it, thought it was a charm.

So there's an 'official' one of these. OK.

At this point my opinion is not needed, but Jos, Eric, and Chris are of course correct. But Brian, contact Black Cross and explain the situation. I do not know his policy, but think he is an honest fellow. He should do the honorable act of allowing you to exchange this for something else from his inventory.
                Regards,
