Why do you suppose there is damage (pitting) to the paint around the outline of the decal?

Unfortunately the original decal has been scraped away and a fake decal re-applied ( as John knows ). Probably a de-Nazified helmet.

Lots of CKLs used spanner bolts, however these may not be original to this helmet.
