    Collecting parachute pieces

Guys, my first post in the FJ forum!! Thinking about possibly picking up a piece of FJ parachute material to start off the collecting in this field. Is there any interest in that sort of thing? I think it is neat but curious on other opinions. I know you collect what you like but is that a waste of money? Please share your thoughts! Mike.

    Hello Mike,

Pieces of parachute are not really the thing you want when
you want to start collecting FJ items. However thoses pieces
are nice to dress your showcases and could be used as a scarf
of your paratrooper (if you want to complete one). But you will
always end up with a complete German parachute if you start
with this... So you're the one who should decide whatever is in
    your budget

RZ20 chute material is pretty cheap. Damaged chutes are rather common at big shows and reenactors have been cutting them up for decades, to use as scarves. If you need a piece, let me know.

Mike, collecting the pieces is good, why not, to see the overall effect of how the camo pattern develops with the manufacture is very interesting and impressive aswell! there is also differences is colour and so on..

it seems that a complete canopy is not too expensive in the US and kindly Willi has just offered you some, so thats a start

I got a whole canopy for $350 in the US
