    Once we have quite an old paratrooper collectors and to start talking about these veterans are young collectors stand here and say, "Oh, you've never known you, your envy has to"

        George, I think he means that many of the younger FJ collectors will never get to meet and know FJ veterans. He is correct in that many of the older collectors do know veterans, and have been very lucky to have learned from them.

        Sven, I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. For me the hobby is not the same while both the German and American veterans fade away.

              And to both of you, Sven and Willi, you are absolutely correct.
              My life has been very enriched by knowing the veterans of both sides.
              I would not be the same person without the contact that I have had to the vets. They are amazing men!

              I once read something by a man that was born in the late 1800s. He stated that as a child, he would sit in the town square and listen to the stories of the old Civil War veterans. As time passed, the men were no longer there. He felt a great void in his life when the Vets were gone. Oh how I empathize with that man. How I shall miss the great and wonderful men that I have had the pleasure to have known.

              May both sides share drink from the same canteen for eternety....
