    John I see now what you mean, some 1944 dated M42 smocks have full/tight
    zigzaging.
    I think though it´s fair to say that it is almost the rule that most manufactors
    eventually at some time along the war went over to the open/loose zigzaging,
    because of rationalising of marterials.
    I´m only trying to find out, with this thread, where this date were with the
    Nr. 164 LWFD jackets.
    But offcause it will not be possible without the help from others members in
    the forum.

      I recently talked to the guy who sold me the jacket, and he told me the exact
      story of the jacket, back to the war, and the conclusion are that the Eagle are
      the one that were on the Jacket.
