    nice collection of jump smocks

    Hello,

Here is a nice picture from one of my glider pilot friends => the picture is dated at late 1944 and it shows a grouping of Glider pilots who just returned from a supply mission , I just tought it was a good shot for you FJ guys .

Are these different smock patterns ?

          Cool!

          Hi Stijn,

Most of the smocks in the photo are tan/waters, the Feldwebel wears a splinter. Period photos of tan waters in wear are scarce, making this a RARE and wonderful photo. Thanks for sharing it.

Superb photo! As John mentioned, photos of water pattern smocks are very rare. Note that they all have the snaps on the bottom of their smocks fastened.

Judging from the photo, I bet that is to keep their balls from freezing off.

                No doubt, Jack!

Kind of reminds me of that great scene in 'The Eagle Has Landed' with
Steiner and the boys at the train. They were wearing reversible parkas
                in the movie, though.

                  Smocks in wear

                  Hello,

Thank you for the comments, it is greatly appreciated . can you date the picture on hand of the smocktype's ? ( I assume as you guys mention that water pattern smocks are rarely seen in pictures it must be late war + correctly dated by our friend ( who is also part of this grouping ) )

I love these Glider pilots => they are just a mix up of about everything you could have in the German army and that service branch is largely underestimated IMHO .
