    Resized liner - period done?

Hello! I am curious about this liner: stamps show that it was resized to smaller size , but has anyone encountered such things before on original helmets?

Alex , i think it's factory made mistake in markings here . I guess the shell itself is 68 size , so no any liners ring fit into except 68 . I doubt that someone replaced the leather and changed the stamps .

Sergey, thank you for reply. Factory mistake could be an explanation. But take a look at the red marked segment of a liner. Could be this 'bubble' a sign of liner re-working? Or it's just misshaped due to the bad condition of wear/storage. The shel istself is size 68.

Bad visible but does the small part of rubber pad exist there under the strap you drowed by red ? If no this is the answere to your question .
If that one is there i think this bubble could become because of the temperature/or water influence or something else . The helmet could be taken from KIA soldier and someone tryied to clean the liner . Stamps look good and period done .
Another thing which could be is someone fit the 71 leather to 68 liner but it's very unusual and i think not in this cause . You can also find the answere if will take the helmet apart and take a look onto inner surface of the leather - it should has the size markings too .
