Thank you very much for the info, Jean-Yves! Very interesting and very nice to get more information on the man and the group. I'm so glad I shared it here.

On the picture of the parade, the one that I have looks original too. It has some writting in the back, and it was ripped out of an album. I'm going to take a photo it, so you can see. I wonder how many copies there are?

Thanks again, I would like to get both of your books, where can I purchase them? (I'm being a bit lazy as I'm off to bed, if I do not get a response by the morning I'll do a search for them ).

    Thanks again.

Would anybody care to comment on the wreath of the Assmann Fallschirmjäger? It will make for a very nice discussion. If nobody chimes in here, would you mind me taking it to the badges forum, Seba?

Very interesting, nice wreath. I would love to see people post badges with that exact wreath.

      Cheers, Frank

It's always good to know where the rest of the split-off grouping is, isn't it? I have one photo album of Dr. Mallison with 89 pics in it, in addition to 58 loose pics...

Akira, do you have a part of every group out there?

I look forward to the pictures, I also sent you a PM.

                  Hi,

Seba, that's a VERY nice grouping! Any award docs? How about some nice pics (front and back) of the Pilot's Badge?

For you Para specialists, could you have a go at answering some questions for me? How many Fallschirmjäger doctors received the DK? How many also had Pilot's Badges? I ask because I recently bought a Pilot's Badge (qualified in Dec 38, an Aluminium Juncker 2nd pattern) that purportedly belonged to a Dr Günther Müller (FJ Reg.1), also a DK winner (in mid 1943, ranked as Oberstabsartz).

For Frank, re the Assmann Para Badge wreath, the eagle looks classic Assmann but the wreath looks egg shaped (?taken a knock) and the hinge/rivets are "different". I'm not sure what to make of it - some sort of hybrid of early/late components? A very early example? An unmarked aluminium badge (great finish but a repaired catch, both of which are common features of Aluminium badges)?

                  Regards
                  Mike K

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!

If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

                    Dear Mike,

My guess is that the wreath has NOT taken a knock but is exactly shaped like that. (Seba please confirm). But anyway, apart from the eggshape, also the leaves aren´t like anything you have ever seen on an Assmann para (or any Assmann flight badge), right?

                    Cheers, Frank

Frank, I started a thread on the badges forum, to keep the topics from mixing up. It sounds like this could lead to a technical discussion on the badge, which other "badge" guys could probably benefit from.

Mike, unfortunatly no documents, only a letter from his daughter authenticating the items.

I started a thread on the pilot's badge, just to be neat and keep the topics clean. Here you go,
