take a repo lid, add some fake SS runes, throw all into a water butt and after a couple of days bury it in your backyard flowerbed for a while. With some luck you´ll dig out such a crap at the end.

All what I wanted to say is, there is not one single atom of this helmet pre 1990....

Gerd you have forgotten one important detail: Fix the runes on the wrong side...

I´m really happy, that I did right with my mention. Such FJ lids are very tricky to judge..... I say, gut feeling is always the best in such a case!
