      Superb smock Anthony!! Congrats.

Notice the pocket lining. M40s were also made from that fabric. Sort of a green flight suit material.

I think the eagle is fine based on the photo. The sewing quality of M40s is not always the same as earlier M38s. Check inside the pocket to be sure. Plus, this manufacturer only made M40s and the type John loves.......

Michael, what did you pick up? Can you bring it in 2 weeks?

Anthony, are all the pockets lined in that fabric? Are any other smock features made from that "flight suit" type material?

These kinds of discoveries are what makes this hobby so great.

I would have expected that smock, like others have been, to have been made from that "flight suit" fabric. And, I would have thought the fabric your smock was manufactured from would have been used for the linings, etc.

Patrick, what are your thoughts on this?

Anthony, I did't see a date on yours. I have found that feature to have been missing from other green P&C M40s.

Again, congrats on your new smock!

Amazing discovery Anthony. As Willi said, "finds" like these are what make the hobby so interesting and exciting.

                  Again, great find.

                  Best,

Willi, I have known for years that both types exist (and was ahead of all of you ): Green M40 smocks lined with "flightsuit"-material, made by P&C; and vise-versa.

I was able to own / inspect app. 7 examples in total of both types over the years, in diff. conditions, from mint to relic (and of course I still own a mint one).

But I have only seen one type of smock so far made from the same material both in- and outside: a tan one I was able to inspect some weeks ago.

Patrick, yes you were certainly ahead of me (and others as well) on smocks like this. Did the other green ones also have the pocket lining in the green "flight suit" fabric? Where they all made by P&C?

But, I saw the green "flight suit" M40 in the '90s and a tan "flight suit" one as well. How about splinter printed over the tan "flight suit"....?

If I recall correctly, a mutual friend of ours from Holland brought a tan one over to the Max when you were still attending back in the '90s.
