I consider the stamps look strange by this pair = the length???
Do you perhaps recovered more pictures from that auction?, if so pleas post them, it has bin some time but to be honest they almost look like the Dutch Army boots I used to wear in my national service period.

      Hi Meindert
unfortunatly i don't have more them, but i sure they were the same of the paire posted here! And they came from Cz republic as fakes, used from the local framers and after put in the market well used

Roger, these are complete different to the eBay offer in question!

Well ,Gerd , always this red/brown leather with black tongues .

the eyelets , for boots dated 44 , seems not to be metal eyelets but a style
          of copper

and the spacing of the stamp looks too long IMHO

I think they are fine. The heels have been replaced though.
I'm no expert in FJ boots but I know that in 7 years in the Airborne I never had replacement heels! Yes re-soled and repaired but never the heels, so I find this a bit suspect, especially since everything else looks in very good condition!

            Cheers Mike

I would like to see the soles and heels of the boots posted above.

I have yet to see a pair of repro boots that are very convincing. Are we saying that the ones on ebay are a new generation of Czech fakes? If some think so I would like to hear what makes them think they are fake.

It was very common for FJ boots to get resoled and reheeled during the war for various reasons.

So far, I see nothing on the boots on ebay that indicate they may be fake.

I would like to examine those pictures as well but looking at both pair of boots it occures to me that there is only one minor difference and to many exact resemblances. I personally can't match the overall mint condition of the boots and especially the sole with the replaced worn looking heel. I’m still learning on this subject so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, hope to learn something in this discussion.

Heels were often the first part to be re-placed due to the odd construction of the jump boot. If the leather shrinks or cracks ( perhaps from poor storage, or extremes of temperture ) the small nails and wooden pegs fall out, making to boot impossible to wear. The original heel does not need to be "worn out" with use, for replacement to be necessary. When the sole needed repairing, a half sole was usually just fixed over the original one. The heel on the e-bay pair may be post-war applied.
Paras were very proud of their boots and kept them for years afterwards.
It does not change the fact that the pair in question are text book in construction. I would have bought them in a heart beat if I had the money.

                        Regards,
                        Steve

Thanks for your effort to explain things Steve and they are gratefully accepted but why completely replace the heels, on what seems to be perfectly new boots, with worn heels, in combination with strong resemblance with the Tsjech repro, it almost make you think that they have tried to conceal something by doing this. You would purchase these in a heartbeat, not me because in the most favourable case these are unfortunately altered with FJ boots, and although my limited knowledge regarding this issue I know that altered with items, especially items in this price range, are difficult to resell the moment you are planning to passing them on to another collector.
