Hi Brian, I don't know. I can't see enough frame to be certain. I called the jpg "BMW" for convenience, but I suspect it is not one.

Jean-Loup! As stated already twice on this thread, one cannot tell DAK Luft. from Ramcke paras unless jump boots, jump helmet, or a bandoleer, etc. are visible in the photo. UNLESS, just as JYN's photos in his book, the photo came directly from a Ramcke veteran. Do your professors have this problem?

Just teasing you Jean-Loup. That's a good point, but there is no marking. That is something on my "wish list," a part of a vehicle with the Ramcke R in the kite symbol!

In a mass grave in stalingrad, I saw the right part of the front of a german car. I dont know the technical word, the part that covers the tire. Anyways, the paint was still in exelent condition, with a white dragon still clearly visible. This piece stayed were it was, and is probably still rotting there now. I remember one idiot hit it with his shovel several times, to knock the mud of his shovel.... tsss
There might be a piece of Ramcke car like that out there...

Who was digging up the mass grave? And why were they digging up a mass grave? Don't tell me! Let me guess! They were all working for the German war graves organisation and every set of remains recovered was carefully identified, tagged and bagged up with all of its remaining uniform effects. And what were you doing there? I am sure this will be interesting.

Yes Prosper, all you said is exact. If you wanted to pull my pants down, you will have to find another subject. If you want more details I gave them in a very long thread that you will find in the paratrooper forum with the keyword Volksbund for example.
Contrarly to some senior members in this place, I do not deal with hundreds of ground dug items.
I want to become a forensic pathologist, so going to Russia ones was very interesting.

I dont know how to interpret your laugh, but if you dont believe me, surf on the internet, and you will see there are a certain amount of "white" russian digger groups.
Anyways, in my 2 weeks in Stalingrad, we dug out about 115 bodies... butonly 4 of them had not be dug up onces before.
