DAK Fallschirmjager Helmet with shooting star unit insignia

Good morning members of the forum, I was wondering if someone had pictures of an original DAK Fallschirmjager helmet with the painted shooting star unit insignia or an Afrika Korps palm tree emblem that they could share. I personally have never seen an original surviving example of this DAK helmet with this insignia only a few pictures of troops in Tunisia with the shooting star emblem. I believe it was hand painted as this decal was not of factory manufacture.

I believe Willi has an original DAK FJ helmet with comet in his collection. Perhaps he will post it for us .

    Regards,
    Steve

if you search through the current topics here in the FJ forum you'll find a war-time photo of such a helmet (FJ tropical paint w/comet).

Well, mine is on my avatar on the left! Can't you see it? Seriously though, I will not provide a closer view. Sorry, but I hope you guys understand. It was featured in the 1983 German helmet book by Ludwig Baer when George Petersen owned it. At the last SOS I met the guy who owned it before George did.

The below photo is the only other known original. Since the photos have been published I figured I could share it here. Based on the camo and some other details, it appears to have originated from the same unit as mine.

I have seen many, many fake comets overs the years; blue, red, white.....on green helmets, wire helmets, tan camos...you name it they have tried to fake them. But, other originals probably exist. There are many, many choice items tucked away in collections that few know about.
