    Not at all MP 38, asking questions is good and we are here to discuss militaria and military history. Please keep asking. This Forum has excellent information and it is hoped that you will do searches to learn more. It is just that your Forum name had me curious regarding your focus.

      Thanks for a closer pic. Im not really sure what the purpose of the sleeve is ?

        "Frag sleeve".

        It fragments on detonation. Those little squares then become very lethal 'fragments', flying through the air.

        Does that help?

          Ok. I guess I thought that's what the grenade did in the first place anyway. Its just to make it even more lethal.
