    wehrpass-Norway Heer coastal defense Batterie

heres some scans from a wehrpass i received yesterday,i thought these were some interesting entry's,he served in 2 Heer coastal defense units Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Regiment 977 & 981,i have found the folowing info on Lexicon.de regarding the 16th batterie of Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Regiment 981

The 16th battery lay in Risnes in Sognefjord and was equipped with four guns 10,5-cm canon K 332 (f)

i cant find any info regarding a 21st batterie of Heeres-Küsten-Artillerie-Regiment 977,the batteries go from #1 to #31-#68??does anyone have any information on this?i also found it interesting he served in a reserve heavy Flak transport unit in 1938.

          Hi Yancy

They're one and the same unit. Just a name change that's all.

Scroll down until you get to HKB 16.\981 Risnes

A short german desription of may 1945 says:
                    Offene Stellung, NICHT RUNDUM
Hauptschiessverfarhen: Freies direktes und indirektes Schiessen
                    The 2 x 5,0 cm Kwk L.42(d) and 2 X 2cm Flak 38 was desribed as: "Für Nahverteidigung"
The power for the scheinwerfers was came from two trucks, one for each scheinwerfer. The two 2 cm flak 38 was placed in the high ground behined the batterie, they was named "Sperber Stellung Süd and Sperber Stellung Nord"
The crew in 01.04.1945 was 2 Offiziere, 23 Unteroffiziere and 79 Mannschaften(Ist), the ideal ratio was 2/23/96(Soll)
The last commanding offizier was Hauptmann Kleiber
The batterie was going to be rebuilt in the later stages of the war, a new command bunker was in progress, but not finished in may 1945.
It was also the intention to change the guns having weels, and changing to lavette(Sockellafette), but this was also not finshed in may 1945
At 08.05.1945 the germans left the area, and it was guarded by civilians until personell from the norwegian coastal artillery arrived. The guns was removed in 1946, and from 01.01.1949 was stricken as miltary area.

In the end i can add some "curiosa" about this batterie.
14.11.1944 13 Mosquitos attacked some ships in the Fjord, one of them was the passengership "Gula" (269BRT) The captain moored the burning ship in the middle of the batterie area. The crew at the batterie imidiatly took part in the rescue of the passengers and ship. Two of the ships crew was killed and 3 wounded.

                    21.01.43
..."Wie aus einer meldung des. Uffz.i.Frwd.

The last "curiosa" i can add are some remarks after a inspection in late march 1944.

Perhaps the above can be of interest for you. I have not translated the german text as im not to steady translating it to english language.
Below two links, the first to a page with some pictures of the battery today, the other one show the positions.

                        Hello
Im sorry to say that i dont have any additional info about Haupt. Kleiber.
In the book mentioned as one of the sources(Fronten er Kysten) its mentioend that the soldiers fram 21/977 was sendt to a camp in Stryn.
I might have a map of that camp, and it is possibel to find out more about Kleiber. But that would take some work, and its a detour when it comes to your wehrpass.
Ill try to get you a map of that batterie later on if you want that.
