I'm trying to find out the name of the Oberstleutnant that authorized the iron cross 1st class entry in this Soldbuch.
The owner of the Soldbuch, a Fahnenjunker-Feldwebel, was since Dec. 1944 in the R.O.B. Kompanie of Panzer-Pionier-Ersatz-Btl.19 in Holzminden.
On March 26, 1945 the Pz-Pi-Ers.Btl.19 was mobilized as part of Division 471 (Westgotenaufruf) to fight the western allies crossing the Rhine. The man was wounded by shrapnel in April. He was admitted to the military-hospital in Holzminden on April 14 were he remained until he was transferred to the american POW camp in Munsterlager on May 13, 1945.
The EKI award entry dated April 13, 1945 is authorized by an Oberstleutnant, Kommandeur des rückwärtigen Kriegsgebiet der 15. Armee (AOK15). An adjutant in the rank of a Hauptmann signed for the lack of a unit stamp.
I could not find such an Oberstleutnant - perhaps someone can help me?
Thanks!
